The Long Stretch

Story Mission

Los Santos

Franklin comes home to find Lamar and his old friend Stretch waiting with a job. A supposed drug deal at a recycling plant turns into a Ballas ambush, and Franklin has to shoot his way out and lose the police on the way back.

Walkthrough

  1. Head home to Lamar and Stretch

    Franklin gets back to find Lamar waiting with Stretch, an old friend fresh out of prison who already has a job lined up.

  2. Stop at Ammu-Nation

    Before the meeting, swing by Ammu-Nation and buy the pump shotgun with the flashlight mod. It's a required purchase, not an optional stop.

  3. Drive to the recycling plant

    Follow Lamar and Stretch out to the recycling plant in La Puerta for what's supposed to be a straightforward deal.

  4. Get through the setup

    The deal is a trap. Stretch shoots D almost as soon as you're inside, and the room turns into a Ballas firefight.

    Warning There's no warning before the shooting starts. Stay back from the doorway instead of walking into the room with everyone else.

  5. Fight through the building

    Clear Ballas out of each room as you push toward the far end of the plant. Use cover and line up your shots rather than firing blind through doorways.

    Tip Most of the enemies in the whole mission are packed into this stretch, so your Accuracy and Headshots numbers come largely from this fight.

  6. Get out through the yard

    Push out the back of the plant into the scrapyard behind it and grab whatever car is closest.

  7. Lose the cops and head home

    The shootout draws a wanted level fast, including a police helicopter. Cut down side streets to break line of sight instead of staying on the main road, then get back to Franklin's.

Gold medal requirements

  • Accuracy

    Finish with a shooting accuracy of at least 60%.

  • Headshots

    Kill 10 enemies with headshots.

  • Unmarked

    Complete with minimal damage to health and armor.

  • Time

    Complete within 10:30.

Watch out for

  • Health pickups are scattered through the recycling plant. Grab them on the way through if you're taking damage, since Unmarked only tracks what actually lands.
  • The shotgun loses accuracy fast at range. Let enemies close the distance instead of firing at them from across a room.
  • Ducking down a side street breaks the chopper's line of sight better than trying to outrun it on the open road.
  • Most of the enemy count is packed into the plant itself, so that fight matters more to Headshots than anything during the escape.
